What began as a Christmas greeting for family & friends turned into something more, thanks to the inspiration of Austin~based arranger/trumpeter Gary Slechta.  Gary had done some impressive Christmas brass quintet arrangements for Deb Wagner and “The Belle Air Brass”, and his charts stood out over the traditional Christmas arrangements in her group’s repertoire.  Gary’s interpretations of Christmas classics are clever and complex, even humorous at times.

The addition of the rhythm section to the brass created a unique sound…like a pint sized Big Band.

“Christmas Is The Warmest Day Of The Year” is a brand new ballad composed by Phillip Springer and RI Allen.  Such a beautiful song required a subtle approach, great phrasing and impeccable intonation~ songbird Tierney Sutton was the obvious choice

So friends, grab a cup of eggnog, and settle in for some swingin’ holiday cheer!
